Naugatuck, CT Helen K. Czaplicki, 96, widow of Chester M. “Chappie” Czaplicki, died peacefully with loving family by her side on June 26, 2021 at Beacon Brook Health Center.

Helen was born on August 3, 1924 in Willimantic, CT daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine (Sokolowski) Kaznoski. She lived in Seymour and graduated from Seymour High School in 1942. Helen and Chappie were married in 1946 and moved to Naugatuck where she resided for the rest of her life.
Helen was an avid golfer at Hop Brook Country Club where she and Chappie won many mixed league championships. She also enjoyed playing bridge in numerous bridge clubs and was a member of Naugatuck Council of Catholic Women and Naugatuck Women’s Club for many years. Helen believed in the importance of college education and made sure her three sons and all of her grandchildren graduated from college.
Helen is survived by her son, Brad Czaplicki and his partner of over 20 years, Susan Brunts-Smith; her son and daughter in law, Kenneth and Maria (deceased) Czaplicki; her son and daughter in law, Randi and Natalie Czaplicki; her grandchildren, Carly (Czaplicki) Vera and husband, Michael Vera, Jenna Czaplicki and her fiancé Peter Mech, Evan Czaplicki and his wife Tereza Sokol, Katherine Czaplicki and her husband David Sestrich; her three great grandchildren, Ella, Michael and Nicholas. She is also survived by two sisters in law, Jane Listwon and Isabel Peterson.
Helen is predeceased by her husband, her parents and her sisters, Mary Pagiluca, Anne Nash and Violet Scialla.
All services will be private and there are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
