Obituary for Lucas Carreira
Meriden, CT Lucas Carreira, 55, died unexpectedly on April 23, 2022 at his home.
Lucas was born October 10, 1966 in Paris, France a son of Maria Carvalho Carreira and the late Alcides Carreira. Lucas lived in Meriden for the past 20 years, having lived most of his life in Naugatuck. Lucas graduated from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1985 and was a former member and past president of Clube Uniao Portuguesa. Lucas loved to play soccer and was a fan of Benefica FC.
Lucas worked as an electrician for over 25 years and was presently a manager at Lowe’s. He volunteered his time and expertise assisting disabled veterans in Meriden and Wallingford with projects and repairs around their homes.
In addition to his mother, Lucas is survived by his wife of 20 years, Debbie Kotrys; his son, Jonathan Carreira; his brother and sister in law, Sergio and Nanette Carreira; his 3 nephews; his many aunts, uncles and cousins and his 4 stepdaughters; 2 step sons in law; 14 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandsons.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4-6pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Lucas’s memory, donations are requested to the family in care of Sergio Carreira, 84 Village Circle, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
