Obituary for Joseph F. Pinto

Naugatuck, CT It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Joseph F. Pinto, 76, of Naugatuck. Joseph died peacefully on April 12, 2022 at Beacon Brook Health Center.


Joe was born November 30, 1945 in Waterbury, CT. He was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Ruby) Pinto and lived in Naugatuck most of his life. Joe was most well-known for his exceptional tool making skills and eyelet manufacturing business, Valley Eyelet Co. in Naugatuck, which he owned and operated independently for over 40 years. At a young age he honorably served in the National Guard. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Ann (Presto), to whom he was married for over 53 years. He was a long time parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed many afternoons at the 'The Shop' with his friends.


Joseph was a dedicated husband and father. He was truly a kindhearted, selfless person and will be dearly missed. Joe is survived by his son and daughter in law, Joseph J. and Dana Pinto and his beloved grandchildren, Chase and Chloe Pinto; his sisters, Rosalie Boncal and Elizabeth Santos and many nieces, nephews and cousins.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 22, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Everyone attending is asked to please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Family and friends may call on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Joe’s memory, contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
