Obituary for Douglas George Long

NAUGATUCK – Douglas G. Long, 78, passed away on January 25, 2021, at St. Mary’s
Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Sharon L. Long for 56 years.

Born on July 25th in Chicago, Illinois; he was the son of the late George Wolf Long and Ruth
Barbara Cole.

Douglas attended York High School and Willow Brook High School before attending two years
of college at the Navy Pier in Chicago and four years at the University of Champaign.

Mr. Long worked as an industrial designer for Pitney Bowes for 16 years, retiring in 2005. He
was a member of the American Legion and art designing was of special interest to him. He
enjoyed antiquing, collecting art, movies of all types, model cars, guns, shooting and reading.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved family, especially his wife, Sharon; his daughters,
Kimberly Ann Long, of Southington, Khristine Rene Long of Naugatuck; his son, Patrick
Douglas Long and wife, Rochelle, of Grand Terrace, California; his grandsons, Shawn Morris, of
Southington, TJ Arcovio, Joseph Arcovio, both of Naugatuck, Leonard Long, Erik Long,
Zachary Long, all of Grand Terrace, California; and great granddaughters, Lily Jean Long and
Emily Rose Long, both of Grand Terrace, California.
