1927 - 2020

NAUGATUCK - Aldina Ruth (Telles) Lunn, age 93, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at Ridgeview Health Care of Cromwell from complications due to Covid 19. She was the loving wife of the late Robert A. Lunn.

Aldina was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on May 26, 1927 to the late James and Aldina (Sousa) Telles. She was raised in Naugatuck, attended St. Francis Grammar School and graduated from Naugatuck High School. She was a longtime communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was a retiree of the footwear division of Uniroyal Inc. where she worked in the data processing department for many years. She witnessed the devastation of the 1955 flood. She and her late husband, Bob, enjoyed vacations all across New England; especially the Catskills, the White Mountains, and the beaches of Rhode Island. She and Bob enjoyed weekend socials with their good friends of Lewis Circle. She liked to play cards, exercise to Jack LaLanne, and was a good cook specializing in pork roasts, flank steak with egg noodles, and apple pie. Aldina enjoyed reading, especially romance novels.

She leaves behind her three sons, Robert A. Lunn of Hamden, Jeffery D. Lunn of Colchester, Brian E. Lunn, wife Cheryl, and Michael and Joseph Burns of Cheshire; a sister, Lorraine (Richard) Kelley of Cromwell; a brother, James Telles of Sun City, FL; a grandson, Mitchell Lunn of Waterbury; a granddaughter, Brittney Lunn of New Milford; a great granddaughter, Sophia; seven nephews and two nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Ellen Ahern-Lunn of Hamden, in August 2020.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Those attending are kindly asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Everybody attending services is asked to wear a facial covering and to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
