1946 - 2020

Spring Hill Florida JoAnn Peters, 73, passed away on July 8, 2020 in Vermont with her loving family by her side.

She was born to the late Mario and Irene DeGregorio on November 29, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY. JoAnn grew up on Long Island and graduated from Newfield High School in 1964. She received a BA in Education in 1968 at the University of Bridgeport where she met her husband, Craig Peters. They moved to Oxford in 1973. JoAnn started her career as Deputy Director of Training at ABCD in Bridgeport. She then became the Director of HRD in Naugatuck, and finished her career as Executive Director of OIC in Waterbury. JoAnn was a good listener and loved spending time with family and friends. Her interests included watching Naugatuck football, skiing, boating, reading, card playing, and Mahjong. JoAnn loved to cook, and put a smile on everyone’s face when she did…she will be sorely missed.

She leaves her husband Craig of 52 years, her only child, Robbi Costigan, her son-in-law Bob, and her grandson Robert. JoAnn was predeceased by her sister, Alice Rienzo; she leaves her brother, James DeGregorio and many nieces and nephews and their families.

I am so sorry for the loss of Joann. I will miss our chats, her smile, her positivity, and her sweetness. She was always welcoming to myself and my family and engaged in wonderful conversation. An angel has left this earth. I hope you find peace in remembering her and her positive impact she had on so many. She was a wonderful woman.
