Anne Corbett Thomas
1959 - 2019

Waterbury, CT Anne Corbett Thomas passed away peacefully September 5, 2019 at her home surrounded by her husband Scott, her 2 dogs Hunter and Chelsea and her family, the Corbett’s. The past year, Anne fought a long, courageous, painful battle with pancreatic cancer.

Anne was born to the late Marion and James Corbett of Naugatuck and lived most of her life in Naugatuck.

In addition to Scott, her loving husband of 37 years, she is survived by her seven brothers, James Corbett, Thomas Corbett, Robert Corbett, Patrick Corbett, Daniel Corbett, Peter Corbett and John Corbett; her sister, Cathy Hennessey; her five sisters-in-law, Pauline Corbett, Darlene Corbett, Mary Corbett, Laura Corbett and Theresa Corbett; her brother-in-law, Scott Hennessey; her nieces and nephews, Crystal (husband Joe), Amy (husband Ricky), Jason (wife Diana), Adam (wife Vanessa), Patrick, Michael (soon to be wife Lindsey), Jennifer (boyfriend Justin), Shannon (boyfriend Joe), Peter, Tyler, Donna (husband Roy), Jaime (husband Steve); her six grand nieces and nephews; Alex, Emma, Keira, Landon, Rylan, Reese, Stephen and a child soon to be born in October; many cousins as well as her many friends.

She worked in payroll for Kuehne & Nagel in Naugatuck for 20 years and recently for Neopost USA in Milford.

Anne was kind, generous and always put others before her. She was good to everyone and the life of the party. She enjoyed her 2 cherished dogs, golfing, puzzles, gardening, trivia games and the Dallas Cowboys as well as the many parties at her brother’s pool and especially having fun on yearly family vacations in Myrtle Beach and Cancun.

We all are saddened; our hearts are broken but we know that Anne is now no longer in pain. She is with her Mother and Father in Heaven smiling down upon us all.

Her family would like to thank the staff at the Harold Lever Regional Cancer Center of Waterbury for their hard work as well as Hartford Healthcare Hospice for their great care in her last days.

A celebration of Anne’s life will be Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 4 to 7pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Anne’s memory, contributions can be made to Animals for Life, P.O. Box 1481, Naugatuck, CT. 06770.

Dear Scott and the entire Corbett family - I just found out a few moments ago of Anne's passing. I'm devastated. And I feel so bad because I missed her service a few days ago. She certainly put up a good fight and I was hoping and praying that there would be some treatment that could help her. When I first found out about Anne's illness, I sent her a healing Mass card and she sent me a beautiful thank you note for thinking of her. I was touched she took the time, as sick as she was, to reach out to me. I worked with Anne at USCO Distribution and then Kuehne & Nagel for many years and I will never, ever forget when I was let go back in 2007, she was one of the only people who reached out to me to say she would miss me and that she was sorry about what happened to me. Trust me, people like Anne are few and far between. Thoughtful, kind, cheerful and always happy. I never ever forgot that card she sent me as it stayed in my heart all these years. I'm so sorry for your loss, Scott, and please know that if there is anything at all I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask.

Dear Scott and the Corbett family. I worked with Anne at USCO Distribution Services. I was located in the North Carolina HR office. As an ex resident of Naugatuck, Anne and I had plenty in common being miles apart. We had a long work phone friendship until I had the pleasure of meeting her when the Corporate office sent her to NC to train me on payroll. We kept up through the years via LinkedIn and Facebook. I am so sorry to hear of her loss. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to you. May she Rest In Peace. Sincerely, Patti Legassie

I have only known Ann a short time, but I am grateful to have had the pleasure of spending time with her. She was among the most welcoming friends I’ve had and I will truly miss her. Her positive demeanor and GENUINE interest in the lives of those around her have always stood out to me. I will miss the poolside & football Sunday chats we’ve shared. I hope the family can find some comfort in knowing that Ann has touched many people with her love and kindness.

We’ll never forget the crazy Corbett vacations, always lots of fun and one loud, drunken kazoo parade!! Don’t forget the easy up, for ‘Grandma’ to be able to enjoy her ‘tribe’ enjoying the sun, sand, and each other. We were fortunate enough to be considered ‘framily’(we moved into the Corbett ‘compound ‘ 22 years ago), and thoroughly enjoyed the Wildwood and Myrtle trips with our children and inclusion in family celebrations, too many to count.
So glad her suffering and pain are over. Our thoughts and prayers are with Scott and her family.🙏💔
Rest In Peace, Anne🙏🙏🙏
