Obituary for Olive Mierzejewski (O'Brien)

Olive  Mierzejewski (O'Brien)
Olive Mary Elizabeth Mierzejewski, 53, of Faber,VA formerly of Naugatuck died on Sunday, February 14, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born in Naugatuck on December 12, 1956, the daughter of Martin O’Brien and the late Mildred O’Brien. She was also preceded in death by her brother Paul O’Brien.
Olive was a graduate of Bay Path Community College in Long Meadow, MA and received her nursing degree from Piedmont Community College. She was a dedicated and active nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center who showed great compassion for her job and her patients. She was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for over 25 years. She was a loving wife, mother of three, and grandmother of three.
She is survived by her husband Paul Mierzejewski, her daughters Therese Filachek of Beachwood, NJ and Ellen Mierzejewski of Houston, TX; her son Matthew Mierzejewski of Crozet, VA; her grandchildren Peter, Anna, and Thomas; her father Martin O’Brien; her brother Philip O’Brien; her sister Sharron Muzio, and a number of additional relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 6-8pm at Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck. A Funeral mass will be held Friday, February 19, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Francis Catholic Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck for a mass at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held 10am on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Charlottesville, VA.
