Naugatuck- Catherine Nolloth, 85, passed away peacefully at VITAS Health care in St. Mary’s Hospital on December 1, 2018.

Catherine was born in New York City, NY on June 18, 1933, the daughter of the late James and Veronica L. (Ryan) Nolloth. Catherine spent her early years attending school and growing up in Manhattan, she enjoyed roller skating and dancing with her family and friends. Catherine was a very independent woman who had no problem navigating life after the early passing of her parents.
Catherine began her working career in 1970’s with The Aluminum Company of American (Alcoa), working as an entry level secretary in their Sales Office located on the 42nd floor of the Pan Am Building. Catherine’s strong work ethics lead to constant promotions and she retired from the company in 2008 with the position of Sales Office Manager at their New Canaan, Connecticut Sales Office. Retirement did not last long as Catherine then joined Union Carbide and began a second career working as an Executive Secretary at their Danbury Connecticut headquarters.

Catherine is survived by her cousins, Marilyn Sullivan of Naugatuck CT, Mary Ellen Mason of Charlotte North Carolina, Robert Sullivan and wife Claire of Poughkeepsie, New York, Thomas Sullivan, Jr. and wife Mary, of Naugatuck and their children Jessica Noble, Jenna Porto and Thomas Sullivan III, Barbara Bruno and her husband Thomas of Sparta, New Jersey and their Daughter Nicole, Annette Petrone and her husband Danny of Long Island New York. In addition to her parents Catherine was predeceased by her cousins, John McGowan, Susan DiMola and Russell McGowan.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 6th 2018 from 9 to 11am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck with a memorial service to start at 11am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, L.I. New York. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Vitas Health Care in St. Mary’s Hospital, 56 Franklin St., Waterbury, CT.
