WATERBURY -Wayne A. Bunker, Sr. 77, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born in Millinocket, Maine on August 18, 1940 to the late John O. and Yvette (LeVasseur) Bunker. He served in the USAF as a jet engine mechanic, working mainly on the F100 Super Sabre, during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Pratt & Whitney in Southington and Hart Mechanical, from where he retired. He enjoyed golf, bowling and fishing with his sons and granddaughter Vivian.
He is survived by his wife of 55yrs Helen (Hotchkiss) Bunker; his sons, Wayne Jr. (Lisa), John, Mark (Laura) and Matthew; his grandchildren, Taylor, Vivian, and Mark Jr. Bunker, Lisa Breton, Melissa Radecki, and Jason Bunker; his sisters, Kathleen (Andrew) Battaglia, Tammy Bunker, and Joyce Fournier; his brother-in-law, Mike Denis; his mother-in-law Helen M. Hotchkiss; his sisters-in-law Nancy Phillips of FL, and Linda Seeley of AZ; his 12 great grandchildren, 17nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
He is predeceased by his sisters, Nora Denis and Annette Searles; his brothers-in-law, Norman Fournier and Kenneth Searles; and his daughters-in-law, Catherine and Suzanne.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10am in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck, CT. Family and friends may call at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 6 to 8pm.
