Donald F. "Woody"  Woodfield
Naugatuck, CT Donald F. “Woody” Woodfield, 77, died unexpectedly on December 26, 2017 at Beacon Brook Health Center.

Donald was born on March 12, 1940 in Waterbury, CT the son of the late Donald C. and Dorothy (Houseknecht) Woodfield and lived in Naugatuck all of his life. He worked as a custodian for the Naugatuck Board of Education and was working at Prospect Street School when he retired. He enjoyed fishing, watching old John Wayne westerns and UCONN Womens Basketball. Woody loved being at the Naugatuck Elks Lodge; where he was a member for over 51 years. He was a life member and in 2002 he was honored as Elk of the Year.

He is survived by his sister, Joan Newell and her husband Zane Newell of Waterbury; his sister, Marcia Medina of Plainville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Juhasz.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00am, with the Elks Ritual immediately to follow, in the Hennessey Room at the Naugatuck Elks Lodge #967, 758 Rubber Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Woody’s memory, donations can be made to the Naugatuck Elks Lodge #967, 758 Rubber Avenue, Naugatuck, CT 06770. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
