Ocala, FL Joseph Michael Aukstolis, Jr., 81, died peacefully on July 28, 2016 at his home in Florida.
Joseph was born in Naugatuck, CT a son of the late Joseph M. and Florence (Wolfe) Aukstolis and had lived in Naugatuck, CT and Watervliet, NY before moving to Florida. Joe was a Korean War U.S. Air Force Veteran and he also served in the National Guard for over 20 years. He was a member the A.A.R.P., a former member of the Watervliet Elks Lodge 1500 and was a Past President of the Watervliet Pistol and Rifle Club. Joe attended St. Francis of Assisi Church when he resided in Naugatuck.
A Graveside Service and Military Honors will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:00am at St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck, CT. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT.
