Obituary for Jean J. LaPerriere

Jean J.  LaPerriere
Waterbury, CT - Jean J. LaPerriere, 91, died peacefully Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Village at East Farms.

Jean was born February 27, 1923 in Grand-Mère, Quebec, Canada, a son of the late Antonio and Anzelica (Pelerin) LaPerriere and had resided in Waterbury and Naugatuck for most of his life. Jean was the retired owner and operator of Preyco Manufacturing Company in Waterbury and was a proud World War II United States Army Veteran. Jean was a member of the Small Manufacturers Association and La Societe des Artisians of Waterbury.

An avid golfer, Jean was a longtime member of the Watertown Golf Club and a member of the Good Fellowship Bowling League of Waterbury for many years.

Jean is survived by his son, Dennis R. LaPerriere and his wife Susan (Piurkowski) LaPerriere of Naugatuck, his son, Paul J. LaPerriere and his wife Patricia (Mariano) LaPerriere of Novato, CA, his daughter, Mary Wacker and her husband Kenneth Wacker of Milton, GA, his sister, Madeline Altfeter and her husband Fred Altfeter of Southington, his sister, Susan “Sue” DeBonis of Waterbury, his brother, Roland LaPerriere and his wife Evelyn LaPerriere of Southington, his grandchildren, Paul M.(Jacqueline) LaPerriere, Carrie (Todd) Gibbs, Lisa (Ray) Morse, and Katie LaPerriere, his great grandchildren, Taylor, Michael, Madison, Gabriel, Tyler and Brantley and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Sunday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will assemble at the funeral home Sunday at 4:45pm.

To honor Jean’s memory, contributions may be made to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708.
