Dear Thomas John, Although I had only met your dad once, I have known you since kindergarten. I do know that you were loved deeply by both your dad and your grandma. They are both very proud of you, as am I. You are now a young man in Middle School who carries your dad's love and caring for others with you be very day. I would hear stories about your love of life, sense of humor, caring for others and willingness to forgive and forgot. These traits shared with your dad. As the days pass, I can only hope you grow stronger and begin to find some reasons to smile as you carry on with whatever your dad started. By the way, as I returned home from the service and was walking up the sidewalk to my home and a small white butterfly crossed my path. All my best, Miss Bert
