Obituary for Leonard Iannantuoni

Leonard  Iannantuoni
PROSPECT — Leonard Iannantuoni Sr., 92, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Harris) Iannantuoni.

Lenny was born on July 15, 1921 in Waterbury, a son of the late Caesar Iannantuoni and Louise (Chiccaese) Iannantuoni. He was retired from The Bristol Co., where he worked as a machinist for many years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in 78th Lighting Division, European Theater. He received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal.

He is survived by his son, Leonard Iannantuoni Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, of Bethany; two daughters, Marie Wnek and her husband Robert, of Prospect and Kathy Renna and her husband Denis, of Falmouth, Mass.; also his sister, Natalie Pannone; and his beloved niece and nephew Peggy and Eddy Pelkey.

He will be missed by his six grandchildren, Mark, Jenifer, Jason, Samantha, Amy and Laurie and his seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother Nicholas.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with full military honors will be at Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect on Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m.
