Prospect- Marilyn Ann (McCarthy) Muckle, age 82, passed away in the Vitas unit of St. Mary’s Hospital on Sept. 8, 2018. She is survived by her husband John of 62 years.
Mrs. Muckle was born on April 9, 1936 in Waterbury, daughter of the late James and Mary (Mulhern) McCarthy. She attended St. Francis Xavier School and graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School. She worked at CL&P, operated MarBernEd Catering, owned and managed the Carvel store in Prospect and later worked at Waterbury Hospital in the dietary dept. until her retirement.
For many years Marilyn volunteered as dispatcher for Prospect Volunteer Fire Department and with the Prospect Registrar of Voters Office to name a few. She was an avid reader, enjoyed home decorating, delighted in answering Jeopardy game show questions correctly, and cherished family get-togethers.
She will be remembered in our hearts for giving of herself, shouldering responsibilities, and caring for others. Her gifts are immeasurable as are the lives she’s touched.
She was predeceased by a daughter Mary Ann Muckle, and a sister Lucille (McCarthy) Hauser.
Marilyn also leaves six children, Virginia (Kevin) Coyle, Diane (Chris) Berube, Janet (Ben) Terkildsen, Jacalyn Norton, Carolyn (Chris) Buchholz, John Muckle III (Leda Eizenberg), grandchildren; Dayna, Sarah, Sheena, Angela, Tessa, Chris Jr., Lindsay, Ian, Rhys, Kory, Crystal, Jamie, Kyle, Tyler, Theodore, Katja and nine great-grandchildren.
