Boca Raton, FL Edward S. Medvecky, 68, left this world on Feb. 10, 2018 at Hospice By the Sea, Boca Raton, Fl.

Ed was born on June 27, 1949 in Bridgeport, a son of the late Edward and Julia Medvecky. He attended Stratford High School and Sacred Heart University and was a member of the Connecticut National Guard during the Vietnam War. In his spare time he loved gardening, cooking, the casino and his many animals. Ed enjoyed sports his entire life; he played baseball, basketball and softball and was also an avid golfer. As a teenager, his baseball team played in the Babe Ruth World Series in Arizona.

Ed was employed by the US Postal Service, Johnson Electric, and most recently at the Broken Sound Club, where his golf skills were put to good use since moving to Boca Raton in 2005.

A loving husband, father and grandfather with a kind gentle soul and a warm smile, he leaves his beloved wife Donna, 3 children, Kerry Medvecky Hardy of Shelton, CT, Edward (Molly) of Boca Raton, FL and Kevin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his sister, Carol (Joe) Macura of South Bend, IN, nephew Matthew (Anna) Macura and their children Amelia and Grant of Loveland OH; his five grandchildren, Alexander, Cameron, Noah, Nathaniel and Abigail. Predeceased by his brother Eugene R. Medvecky

Ed's last weeks were spent surrounded by the love and comfort of his beloved family. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.
