Southbury, CT Walter Montini, 88, the husband of Gina (Marsiglia) Montini, died peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital.

Walter was born on September 28, 1928 in Patrica, Italy the son of the late Luigi and Paolina (Piatrina) Montini and had lived in Southbury for the past 36 years. Walter was a U. S. Army Veteran having proudly served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Walter earned his Bachelors Degree from Rutgers University and he retired from Tetley USA, Inc. where he worked as a cost accounting manager.

In addition to his beloved wife Gina, Walter is survived by his son, Robert Montini; his son and daughter in law, David and Karen Montini; his grandchildren, Jovanna, Laqual, Lexi and Milana; his great grandson, Evan; his sister, Nina Marks and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 11:00am at the CT State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Walter’s memory, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
