Naugatuck, CT Odete P. Campos, 88, the beloved wife of the late Goncalo Campos, Sr., died peacefully on June 14, 2017 in the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Odete was born on Oct. 23, 1928 in Brazil, a daughter of the late Vitorino and Corina Dos Passos and had lived in Naugatuck for most of her life and had worked at Risdon Manufacturing and Better Forms Metals. Odete will be remembered for her passion for life and family.

Odete is survived by her daughter, Fatima Campos; her sons, Goncalo Campos, Jr. and his wife Francisca, Vitorino “Vic” Campos and his wife Anabela and Joe Campos and his wife Jennifer; her loving grandchildren, Nicole Campos-Medeiros (Nelson), Eric Vale da Serra (Kristen), Sergio Vale da Serra, Jacklyn Campos-Rodrigues (Jack), Alexis Campos, Chad Brihim, Erica Campos, Miles Brihim, Taylor Campos and Michael Campos; her adored great grandchildren, Geoffrey, Alexandre, Jax, Jordan, Jade and Rui and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Odete was predeceased by her daughter, Vera Brihim, her brothers, Jose and Osvaldo Dos Passos and her sister, Cleonice Reis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury. Everyone is kindly asked to please go directly to church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are on Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 5 to 8pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
