Naugatuck, CT Yoland Roy, 77, the husband of Murielle (Grondin) Roy, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Roy was born on June 30, 1939 in Saint-Martin de Beauce, Québec, Canada a son of the late Alphonse and Emérina (Leclerc) Roy and had lived in Naugatuck for most of his life. He was an owner, with two of his brothers, of Roy Brothers Carpentry & Construction Company.
In addition to his wife Murielle, Mr. Roy is survived by his daughter, Christine Roy of Naugatuck; his brother, Ange Emile and Jocelyne Roy of Naugatuck; his sister, Henriette Roy of Naugatuck and several other brothers and sisters, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Yoland’s memory, contributions can be made to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills, NJ 07078.
